HLD secured Site Plans approval and prepared construction drawings for an adaptive re-use project located on a former auto salvage site along the Fishkill Creek in the City of Beacon. The adaptive re-use consisted of demolition of existing buildings and other structures on the premises which included cleanup and mitigation for existing VCO contamination on the site. The proposal called for renovation of an existing 4-story brick building into 7 luxury apartments, a new 4-story building with podium parking, and 44 residential apartments space. The project design consisted of relocation of an underground stream through the site, extension of City water mains and a stormwater conveyance & treatment system. The City’s Fishkill Creek Greenway & Heritage Trail that runs along Fishkill Creek was extended through the site that links up with the greenway trail at the 1 East Main development to the north and the 23-28 Creek Drive project to the south. Construction for the project was completed in 2018.
