HLD provided engineering support for the subdivision of a 8.6-acre parcel in the Town of New Baltimore, NY. The three created lots were fitted with various site development plans at the developer’s direction, consisting of a 39,000 square foot assisted living facility on the flagship lot, a professional office building, and a fast food restaurant. Stormwater runoff from the site was directed into two stormwater management basins, consisting of bioretention areas with pretreatment. Mr. Koehler provided hydrologic and hydraulic calculations in support of the stormwater management plan for NYSDEC review and approval. Each site access and parking area was graded to provide ADA-compliant access, and to promote stormwater runoff to the various stormwater management practices. A limited number of structures and pipes were incorporated into the design due to head limitations on the east side of the site. The ultimate discharge from the site was toward the New York State Thruway (Interstate 87). Mr. Koehler obtained permits from the NYS Thruway Authority for the stormwater discharge.
