River Ridge Townhouses

HLD provided site civil design for the River Ridge Townhouse development located in the City of Beacon, consisting of an 18-unit single-family townhouse development within three buildings on 2.98 acres. The site is flanked by the Nationally registered Dutch Reformed Church to the north and very steep slopes to the west. The site design included municipal sewer collection system discharge to the City’s collection system, a new water service line from the City’s existing water main (including provisions for a water meter pit with a double check valve for backflow prevention, and onsite fire flow), a stormwater collection system consisting of a series of catch basins, yard drains, drain basins, trench drains, and associated piping that discharges to a designed water quality treatment inlet prior to discharge to an underground infiltration system in order to meet NYSDEC SPDES General Permit 0-15-002 stormwater compliance, site access via single point entry to NY State Route 9D (Wolcott Avenue), site parking, a community staircase to permit pedestrian movements to and from the train station, open space, and relocation and restoration of a historic gazebo. HLD also provided construction oversight and performed SWPPP inspections for the duration of the construction, which was substantially completed July 2021.
