23-28 Creek Drive

HLD provided site civil design for the property formerly occupied by the City of Beacon Department of Public Works (DPW). The parcel consists of approximately 2.81 acres of land and related improvements located at 23-28 Creek Drive, Beacon, New York. The project consisted of redevelopment of the site to allow for the construction of a commercial/residential mixed-use project, in addition to parking, landscaping and other improvements. Existing buildings were demolished on the site in order to construct a new mixed-used commercial/residential building with 20,000+/- sq.ft. of commercial space on the ground floor, and seven (7) residential apartment units on the three floors above. The site design included relocation of an existing municipal sewer trunk line through the site, extension of an 8” City water main to the site and a stormwater collection system. A stormwater treatment system consisting of hydrodynamic pretreatment inlets flowed by an underground infiltration system and bioretention system in compliance with NYSDEC SPDES General Permit 0-20-001. The project also included an extension of the City's Fishkill Creek Greenway & Heritage Trail through the site and the creation of a large creek-front public park. HLD provided site development engineering drawings, representation at planning board meetings, obtained permitting and construction observation/RFI for the project. Construction was completed in 2023.
